Default VW Golf VR6

Anyone have experience running against a stock GOLF VR6? S2000 is in storage for the winter but went up against one in my v6 accord and he pulled good on me, says he would love to try my S on. Any ideas of the outcome.

If he's stock. There's no competition. Your win.

If he's truly stock, I wouldn't have expected him to pull away from your Accord as you made it sound. You obviously have an automatic and he probably has a manual so it would be close compared to your Accord but it wouldn't even be close compared to the S.

yes it is a 2001 coupe v6, automatic. Certainly would be different outcome with a 2003 6 speed accord. And yes, he was complete stock and he did pull hard. We where doing about 25 and he pulled hard up to about 90.

Thanks for the response. I realize the S should take the VR6, but can not find the curb weight of the VR6. thought maybe it was light compared to the S.

VWs are heavy little cars (they weigh more than you would think and are very solid). VW states that the GTI VR6 (which you encountered since there is no Golf VR6) weighs 3036 lbs. and does 0-60 in 7.7 seconds.

The Mk4 VR's weight about 3000 LBS on average. The Mk3 VR's weight about 2800 LBS on average.

vw. at least golfs, gti's arn't that heavy. My 1.8t weights 2,900. which is around s2000's. A chipped/I/E 24v VR6 won't even give you a run for your money let alone a stock one.
