Are these results typical?? (I have an ACT clutch and Comptech flywheel, thats it)
M3 (01-03?) - His top up and a passenger. I had top down 1/2 tank of gas and no passenger. He seemed to have a little more low end, but if I was in vtec it seemed like he couldn't keep up at all. I was rather shocked. He did seem to shift early at low RPMs, but he was trying (he even admitted it.)
Mustang GT 06 - game of cat and mouse and he couldn't get away. He definately couldn't control it around corners. Loud car, but I wouldve figured he was much faster. I could keep up just fine.

so the m3 was tryin by short shifting? i dont understand what that means, please clarify...
a well driven e46 will leave a relatively stock s2k. i know this from personal experience.
as for the new GT i've read that they're only a bit slower than the e46 m3's on e46fanatics, so not sure what to make of it.
maybe u're just the better driver

you obviously beat the driver of the M3, not the car.. As for the GT, he said he was going around corners so thats not a huge surprise. On a pure straight you would not have won unless he couldn't drive as well

He said the M3 was topdown which means convertible which = more weight.
I thought the verts were slower than the coupes. He also said it was 01 to 03 which means less hp than the newer ones.

if you read carefully the M3's top was up.
in any case the M3 race wasn't typical but not far off if you are a decent driver and he sucks (given that it's vert and he had a passenger).
the GT race is definitely believable as I have played with this car (i was completely stock) and achieved identical results.

the M story sounds fishy, as for the 06 stang i have been able to pull them on from digs, but never ran one on the hwy for more than a couple of secs(traffic).

ok thanks for the tips. I thought I was going to get killed by the m3. The m3 top was up and the engine sounded like he was really gunning it, but it sounded like he was shifting closer to 5-6k rpm. I don't know what the redline is on those cars, but oh well.
1. I would say I'm average or a bit better of a driver, but far from professional. I have a really hard time shifting from 1st into 2nd cleanly in this car for some reason if I'm really redlining it.
2. The GT and I were in corners...nothing too sharp just very gradual with a good bank which is where I feel very comfy in the s2000.
Sounds like I didn't beat either car but just the drivers. oh well. I tried lol.
