why
It's simple - both are good cars and perform well. Ends up being up to the driver on who wins.
As an s2k owner I do however have pride in that having less CC i can still keep up, and some 350Z owners might have pride they got to pay less and keep up with S2k's.

At the end of the day, keeping up, and pride are not going to mean much if you're trying to set the fastest lap times.
And if the goal is to just drive in a fun manner, what's the point of these threads in the first place?

Look, I am an S2000 owner. I bought my car right before they announced the release of the Z. I would have gotten the Z, had it been a few months later. If you go out and spend 1000 on an exhaust ffor an S, you get maybe 7 HP, with the Z, you get 15-20. All of the other mods have similar effects. I like the looks of the car as well. Now, don't get me wrong,, I love my car, and it is quick. But I have raced Z's on the freeway, and driver skill on the freeway is not a factor, and I have been beaten easily by Z's, and even G35's Once we get to about 85, it's all over. Just look at the trap speeds of the Z's, in comparison. Not from the magazines, but really at the track.

The car doesn't mean a damn thing, only the driver does.

.... are you implying that there is more driver skill needed on the road course than on autox???????
