Yet Another Kill For The S2K............
Well, went out tonight with some buddies, and I cant remember if i posted this before or not, but i raced a Sabb 9-3 Viggen a while back....he launched, I didn't and by the end of fourth I was passing him!
Anyways.....I saw him again tonight......
Him...alone
Me....220 lb passenger
We were toying around for a while, and my passenger (Steve) had never seen the Viggen before, so after I told him about it, he was pretty impressed, and then the guy hit it next to me......I must admit that car sounds mean as F*$& at WOT!!! My passenger almost shit a brick, he was
freakin out!!
So we get to an area thats fairly empty, no cars on the road, and I was in 3rd at about 60 or 65...then we both hit it....I had a pretty good shift to 4th, and by about 107 I was 2 cars ahead.....
I was pretty happy, and Steve was goin ape shit because i tore the guy a new a$$hole.....so were drivin next to eachother, and he decides to try again, this time in second at about 45.....same story, but this time I pulled even harder, again to about 110. Both me and steve were like
..."Who's your daddy???!!!"
So he turned left, and I went right....about 15 minutes later, he pulls into the gas station where i was waiting (and where all the cruisers (me being one of them) turn around) We were talking for a bit, I showed him the intake, which he alsmost nutted his pants when he saw it, and then we both went our separate ways. He was an older guy, maybe late 20's or early 30's....really nice guy, and very impressed with the fact that the S2 is naturally aspirated and pulls so nicely, especially top end.
All in all, a good night, and I went home feeling pretty good. He is planning on chipping it, which he said bumps it from 240 HP to about 280 HP, then we will have to race again. I replied with "Just find me and let me know, Im up for anything"
Oh yeah, on a side note, I also got my a$$ handed to me by Jim Fuchs in his no-where-near-stock F40 which he races all over the world, not to mention he runs a 10.9 1/4 mile on STREET TIRES!!!!!
I know Jim fairly well, he is a very laid back guy considering the amount of money he has (most people around here in his position are total snobs that I want to deck in the jaw)....that was just a friendly race, and him kinda rubbin it in, but I did take him for a ride one night in the S and he was very impressed with the stiffness, and the fact that it stays very smooth all the way to 9K....He is also building a full tube frame TVR that should weigh in at about 1600LBS with him in it! That is going to be a fast car.....period!
Thats all for today....

hahaha....sorry Humanatek, but I am only 20, so he was just older compared to me and the people I usually hang out with! No offense meant by that statement....
The specs on the Saab Viggen are 230 HP 258 TQ.....
Here is a picture....
Its not a bad looking car....factory 17's, slotted rotors front and rear, 2.3 L Turbo producing full torque at 2300 RPM and full power at 5500 RPM...3100 LBS, 0-60 in 6.4 seconds.....not too bad for that size of a car, with a nice launch it could be a little quicker.
