Default yet another ztory

me and a co-worker of mine decided to go on li'l lunchtime drive today first on a scenic route and then back via highway, he had a 150lb passenger, i was alone.he has an 03' track model Z w/ an injen cai and greddy dual exhaust, i dont have anything besides my 0hp and torque adding tanabe hyper medallion. now i drove his car before he got his mods and i have to admit it was pretty tame it had a lot of torque on the low end but up top it seemed to just DIE, and since then i've considered his car kind of a lame, a factory freak in a BAD way.
anyway, on the highway we end up next to one another and on 3 honks we go, starting at 65 going to close to 100. i immediately start to pull slowly but surely and when i shifted into 4th he was on my rear bumper.
we get to our exit and to my suprise we catch the first light. he looks over and i'm already laughing, so i know he's gonna gun it,
GREEN!! i launch at 6k and my toyo's hot from the drive give a couple of chirps and i actually consider it a slightly bogging launch, anyway he's right in my window, i shift to second he falls back stabilizes and stays there shift to third he falls again to around my rear wheel till i shut down at 95.
we get back to the shop and he says that on the highway he was in 4th during the race!! i was like WTF, thats bs. because i saw him shift a second before i went into 4th. so either his car in 4th is faster than my vtec in 3rd or he's lying his ass off. his next excuse was that from a dig he had his traction control on, which is a reasonable excuse to me, but sheeeit whatever ill take a victory however i can get it.

?????? Ever drive one? Ever talk to anyone who knows motors??? The VQ35 has been notoriously the best V6 since it replaced the pevious best v6 ever the VQ30.

The power plant is quite excellent. Agreed they could stand to loose 300 or so pounds. But then we would have a hell of lot less posts bout S2Ks beating Zs or G coupes, because it wouldnt happen :-)

but ive seen three different cars (all had supercharger kits, one had super/35 shot nitro) toss a rod through the block. i think its a good stock motor but it doesnt take lot of abuse.the car is fat too.sport compact car took one and gutted most of the interior and it lost like 600lbs! and the rear deck lid its self weighed 300ish. just imagine a fiberglass 100lbs one! hint hint wink wink tring to help get good part made.i think it would have benifited from a turbo motor or sc from the factory. sc would have been the easiest since they all ready have the parts in the parts bin to make it work. just a few z specific special parts and a charger from a xterra or truck. mabey a water to air charge cooler............ sorry im drooling. it just could have been a little better. even just a little better n/a would have been great. did they come with limited silp? the few ive driven i never got one to crack lose, just high speed on the freeway. and as for knowing anything about motors..., im a 7yr tech. and am a few classes away from getting my BA in mech. engineering.

The s2000 could use a factory supercharger too... what's your point?

Yes they are available with an LSD.

I took the back seats out of mine, the spare tire and tools and extra trunk items. Added the wieght all up and it was 250 pounds!

The forged wheels saved another 5 pounds each.

The exhaust is almost 30 pounds lighter.

Its pretty easy to make a G Coupe weight 3200 pounds, not 3500 pounds.

I have never run it at the drag strip, but its pleanty fast :-)

As far as turbo or SC goes....

Stay tuned....you will see a Skyline GTr with ATTESA AWD and twin turbos soon......
Why buy a G35 and take out the back seats? Isn't that the whole point? You shoulda bought a Z. Hotter & cheaper
