Default Z06 vs Bike

Well, we were headed home from getting something to eat and a bike gets behind us at a light and rev's, so as the light turns green we take off and rev it up a bit. The bike floors it and rides a wheelie by us in a turn lane and passes us and another car. We get out in the country and floor it, as soon as we floor it he does as well, well we didnt catch up before he let off. He was a good 500 ft or so ahead of us to begin with. He slows down and then punches it again, we were in 4th so not really ready so he pulls a bit then lets off.

Ok so now were ready, we are about 5-6 car behind him and he takes off and we punch it immediately. We top out 4th and are gaining on him, as we shift to 5th we go by him and almost redline 5th (whatever speed that is) 160? Then he lets off and cruises behing us. We pull off and he pulls up and is like, thats pretty quick. Then he says "yeah at about 150 I had to turn off my courage " Then my wife who was driving is like wtf? It was a guy from her work, so we all start laughing and go on our way. I dont know what size bike it was too dark to see, but it was a CBR, my wife says she'll find out.

Anyways I have to say, of all the bikes we've played with this was the best race. I dont want to hear about a bike will beat you everday of the week etc...I know their potential, but IMO it comes down to the rider, if hes willing to drive that speed or not. Anyways it was pretty cool

So... he took it to 160 but wasn't willing to take it to that speed? So you beat him after he obviously was willing to take it to that speed? So why did you beat him? I for one hope this was a 600cc or less + a 3-4 year old bike. As much as you'd want, your z06 will not pull on a new 600cc cbr.

P.S. You pulled more than 7 cars on the bike, is that what you're trying to say?

Lol, well where to begin? Hmm. I said after about 150 he decided to let off, well thats what he meant to say. So your saying no way a Z06 will beat a bike even if the rider decides ok im gonna let off now. Lol, I wish I would have got it on vid, damn never remember to get the vid on the camera phone. Oh well yes what im saying is we beat him after 150, sorry if you dont believe it. Once we got past him you could tell he started to let off since we started to pull away.

Lol, man please I used to have a CBR and a Kawi, I know what bikes do to cars trust me. But I aslo know if a rider isnt too confident or experienced no way in hell are they gonna ride a bike to its potential.

I dont need to post lies...Im telling you exactly what happened, if you dont like it, well stop reading from this point forward. I can guarantee you from experience I would much rather be in a car at 150 than on a bike, and that really what it comes down to.

granted i am modded with cam/header/xpipe/exhaust, i pulled a new 600rr 2 times up to 140+ starting at 70. over a 100-115 is not that bikes stringer point but is for the z06.... so an unmodded z06 vs. older 600 or even newer 600 is believe. good kill

good kill.. but i agree with both on this issue.. i don't think a bike is going to lose to a car, unless the bike rider is not pushing the bike to it's potential.. if he does, there shouldn't be a race..

I don't mess with bikes. When my Z06 feels too slow I go ride my bike...

As I have said before. I know what bikes can do to cars, but its liek running into someone in a Enzo, ok obviously hes gonna beat you, but what speed is he willing to take it up to before letting off. Same here, im not saying "oh I killed thsi bike" we were just having fun. He just decided at 150 or so to let off, nothing wrong with that

quick s2k,
definitely.. you know what.. at least he was smart enough to know his limitation... and i'll tke that over the idiot that pushes it just to prove a point..
like every other race.. its driver against driver.. a crappy driver/rider wont win with the fastest car..

Assuming that you have the stock rear gearing, you should be way past 160 if you came close to redline in 5th. The Z06 tops out in 5th gear, once you redline in 5th and shift into 6th you'll actually slow down.(unless you're decently modded) Redlining in 4th will put you at 143mph, and in 5th you should be at least 175mph.

As for the bike, an older 600cc you'll be able to pull after 60-70ish. If it's a newer model(R6, 600RR..etc) then I don't see you pulling until above 120-130mph. The 600s do slow down quite a bit once they hit 150ish, so that's probably when you reeled him in.
