Default Z06 vs. SC'ed S2000.....

Well this isn't a kill but I am searching for an answer to the topic. I love the S2000 but I want to know how would these 2 match up Z06 vs. SC S2000?

I know the Z06 has the S2k on the 1/4 but how about a rolling start, handling, and any other comments. Please answer with unbiased opinions because I don't know what the SC S2k is capable of but I do know what the Z06 is because of experience. Enthusiast and owners please educate me with your knowledge and experience. Onwers that have had encounters with a Z06 tell us what has happened whether it be on the street drag strip or road course.

Thanks to all,

Wicked

Well, my opinion isn't going look unbiased, but just from owner's comments on here and personally riding in a Z06, the Z beats the SCS in all of the above. In general, to compare rolling start races, just look at trap speeds in the 1/4. The Z06 brakes like nobody's business. I believe stock numbers were 102 or 104. It's pretty hard to beat a Z or supra in braking. Handling....well I've never ridden in an S so I'll let someone else judge that. You can't really compare the two without driving each and trying to remove your preferences (such as stiff shocks/large sway bars/toe and tires....so many different suspension preferences) from your judgement of the two cars. But the numbers on courses are pretty significant and just the classes these two are organized into shows something I think.

But, you can't take the top off a Z (unless you spend an extra $6000 I think).

Just my .02

Just some 411, the new Z06's are running low 12's stock, but some are dipping into the high 11's. As the new LS6's are waking up (really wake up around 8-9000 miles for some reason) numbers are dropping, but most don't stay stock that long.

Already done it. Z06 takes SC S2000. It's not disgraceful by any means, but an out-of-the-box Comptech SC setup will not take a Z06.

Well, technically, I've run 4 Z06's. I have two friends that had Z06's up until a month or so ago. I ran them when I was stock and when I was SC. Mostly from the line, though, and I got walked every time. Even when I was launching at 8K. I lined up against one at the track, he was on slicks and I was only rollingout. Needless to say he was gone before I even crossed the line. The one I ran from a 60+ punch recently, he didn't gain much...I don't think it was the 2002 model, I didn't notice the special badging.

So, out of those 4 encounters, I've seen nothing that would make me think that I could hand it to a Z06...unless my mom was driving it.

I'm not exactly unbiased either, but I'd place my bets on the Z06 every time. Hey Wes I happen to have a buddy at work on my team who just purchased a 02 Electron Blue Z06. Car has 13 miles on it as of this am.

God is that thing sweet!!!!

Shizon - The Caravaggio conversion on the Z06 is $12,500.

I don't think that the S2000 is designed to be a quarter mile monster so of course the Z06 will take it in a straight line drag race. Now if we take it to a road track... the Z06 will be outhandled and stomped on.
