Default ZO6 vs ZO6 (34-1, I lost!)

I met up with Pakisho on this board to go to Crystal Cove today (BTW, had a great time, can't wait to go again next week). Anyways, on the way back we raced a couple times.

For those of you who know, up until now I've never lost a freeway race and have been keeping track of all the cars (worthy ones anyways) that I've raced. Moving on....

The first race we went from around 70 mph to about 110 or so before we had to slow down because of a bend in the freeway. He honked three times and we both took off, with me pulling about a car immediately (I drop the clutch hard on drag radials when I race on the freeway). He pulled back up to my door and then we had to slow down.

The second race we did the same thing from around 70 to about 130 or so. Again, I jumped out about a car length and he pulled back and then put about a car on me when we let off. Although I'm able to get a harder launch with traction, it's obvious he makes enough mph to make up the difference and get around me. I thought his traction was going to be so bad (he makes 600rwhp) that I might be able to hold him off! Wrong!

Anyways, I want to give him props for having a fast car being able to do something where 34 others have failed. Of course, with these new trips to Crystal Cove, maybe I'll lose more often!

What are your mods?? You just have a lot done to hold off a 600rwhp car like that.

Seth, good times, good times! CC was a blast, we need to do it again soon!

Your car is very well set up for this kind of stuff. The DRs make a big difference. Even in third gear, I usually have to get out of it at about 5500in third because I start losing traction and I didnt want to put it into the median at 90mph.

Once I have the DRs on the back, I will be able to stretch the cars legs properly in second and third, and not granny shift it. These pos pilot sports dont even permit a hard shift to fourth at the moment.

If we had started even slower, it would have taken much longer for me to catch you. Regardless, I dont anticipate you losing that many races anyway..........its never about how much power you make, rather, how well you put it to the ground.

Good fun!

Yeah, your car's going to be a monster on drag radials. I didn't really want to go any slower since I knew you wouldn't get any traction.

As for my car, I make around 430rwhp with a warmed over motor (for the guy who asked). I've raced MANY cars that make more hp than me but that whole little "traction" thing helps.

As for the 350Z in the Bay area, ask Pakisho. He knows a bunch of guys up there, I'm sure he could set up a run with one of his friends. Personally, I've raced one 600rwhp TT 350Z, one S/C 350Z, and a 500 rwhp TT G35, and finally a 470 rwhp TT G35. The closest race was the TT 350Z but he just didn't have the traction to beat me. I raced him twice and beat him by about a car.

There's also another TT 350Z making a lot of horsepower here in L.A.. I haven't raced him but he's a friend of another guy I know here. Periodically they'll e-mail me to meet up with them because they like to go crash other hang outs (like the BMW meet or something). Hopefully I'll meet up with them also. I'm just getting to know L.A. since I've been here only 3 months.

The 350Z hasnt been beaten because he hasnt gotten any fair, clean runs against fast cars. There is no shortage of cars up north that would hand the guy his ass on a platter. He jumped two races against my friends Porsche and then didnt want to race me afterwards. Somehow, that turned into "he smoked both of us." I dont want to waste any more time talking about that guy. He has been given plenty of opportunities to step up and mysteriously dissapears every time someone calls him out.

Ok... His car has been in the shop for over 2 months now... he is gonna be in the upper 700+rwhp range now... He has a huge buisness and his life doesn't revolve around racing. If you or any body wants to try and run his car (and get beat) let me know and I'll set something up.

How about you run your own car instead of trying to set races up for Marin? Why would anyone go through you to "set something up" when they can talk to him directly?

I would love to race also... But it's nice to see his car run also.... I'm sure if you wanted to race him so bad you would have talked to him already, but you havn't. But I'm not here to argue, good luck with yor car.

You know, I went through all this with you before.

We didnt get a clean run, we went back, we talked to him directly, we talked to his friends who said they would set things up, nothing happened. This stuff is now nearly six months ago. Your subtle attempts to stir things up are unecessary.

We're done here, back to the original topic of this thread.

Edit: Good luck with yours as well.
