I have been debating on whether to purchase a CAI for the S but have not been able to due the the price range and the chance of it getting water logged.

I was just searching ebay when I came across a CAI intake for about 30 bucks.

I understand the function of the CAI but what is the difference in function between a $30 CAI and a $300 CAI.

Will buying a cheaper version have any bad effects on the engine?

I am just curious as to the offer is tempting. Here is the link to the product.

I have never done business with this person, but did you read some of the negatives about the seller? I think you will get a piece of crap based on their responses... I am starting to agree with others on this. Ebay is a scam that profits Ebay. Ebay doesn't care about problems and you couldn't get away with this in a real store. If I want something on Ebay they have to have positive responses to negative criticism.

Thats the same one as mine, BUT you are missing one vacuum hole that was not welded on the intake that my company fixed. I sell them on the forum for $120 shipped in the groupbuy section. They are painted Gun Metal and have a real K&N filter. Also an AEM BPV is optional for no more than $35 with S&H

 

I think ebay is great. But walkabt is right about the feedback - which is the most important feature on ebay. I would never bid on something from someone who received that feedback, and especially someone who posted those responses. I would wonder what he would respond to my negative feedback.

 

LOL, this seller is a reall asshole...start at page 27 of his feedback (with new responses, it will get pushed to further pages). There should be several negative feedbacks on that page alone and some hilarious neutral ones, as well. I wouldn't buy from this guy without some SERIOUS assurances I would get what I pay for
