Seriously though, hitting a dead deer isn't covered under comprehensive?

No, that would be collision.
This is wrong, or at the very least 1,000% wrong in the state of New York. As far as animals that have done damage to my vehicles, I have hit 2 deer, 1 fox and 1 Canadian goose, and none of them have been collision claims. None. Zero. Ziltch. A deer impact is a comprehensive claim. Period. Just like my fox and goose claims.

Oh deer, what a mess, wrecking a new S like that would break my hart. I wouldn't pay a buck beyond the deductible though - let the insurance company spend its doe - the damage total can be stag-gering.

Of course, since Bambi isn't going to testify against you, then it's sort of a moot point because you would be crazy to admit it was already dead when you hit it.

I want to make fun of you, but I am on the horns of a dilemma. If you get ticked off, you may sue me for many bucks.
