0-60 isn't that big of a deal to begin with, but just FI and you'll be there.

 

Gears + Tires + tune + learn to drive, should put u somewhere around there if you gotz the skillz

 

Stock gears will beat 4.77s to 60 for one reason. 4.77s have to shift one extra time. 4.77s will be out ahead of stock gears by 2+ cars easy. But once it his 55 it has to shift an extra time. That time spent not accelerating is enough for a stock 4.1 drive s2000 to stay in 2nd gear and beat 4.77s to 60.


Pointing out that 0-60 times doesnt rate a cars performance at all because 4.77s are much faster then 4.1s

Depending on how much boost. The normal 7 lbs. that come with the VT and upgraded CT will not get you to 4.6 0-60 times.

 

Not if you can shift in under 0.3 seconds.

2 car lengths of an S2000 is roughly 27 feet. At 60 MPH you are covering 88 ft./sec. 27/88 is .3068 so you will retain the lead IF you can shift in less than 0.3 seconds.

 

/\ wait, retain the lead or, first to 60? This is going to get confusing but, 88 ft per second, wouldnt .3 seconds be if you stopped instantly because the car will still travel even if not accelerating?

 

Retain the lead, and yes, the car will continue moving (I forgot to take that into account), so you are correct, you actually will have more than 0.3 seconds to shift, but not much.

 

Gears are a complete waste of money, especially if you have a 4.6 0-60 goal. FI is the way to go.
