0-60 in 5.6 or 6.2 seconds?
I always find the best thing to do is compare magazine by magazine.
e.g. Autocar says 5.6, just compare that to the other car. Although the times can never be truly standardised, at least having this consistency should give you an indication.
Top Gear with a duff clutch only managed about 7.0 seconds, so it is difficult.
Autocar is not as biased as people try to make out, at least not with performance figures anyway.

There is no "proper figure" for 0-60 times. Not on the s2000, not on any car... there are just too many variables to take into consideration. Just because one magazine reports a certain number does not mean thats what your car will be able to do. It's just a statistic from a test measurement. Every car from the factory will have different HP ratings.. Some s2000s dyno at 195, and some at 205. Thats 10 hp.. thats a BIG difference. That doesn't take into concideration the wind, slope or grade of the test area, temp outside (though they usually correct for this) and most importantly DRIVER! A s2000 will have no trouble hanging with a conv M3 if driven well, and may even pull away due to the //M3's extra weight. Saying 1 car will beat another car 100% because of a stat in a magazine is pointless and it's called "magazine racing".
Honda quote 0-62 mph (0-100Kmh) in 6.2 secs.
This in turn would be probably 0-60 mph in 5.8 secs.
A brutal launch by Autocar managed 0-60mph in 5.6secs.
That extra 2 mph may not seem a lot, but Car Testers equate it to about 0.5 secs over 60 mph figures, less for faster cars more for slower cars, I think our S2000 fall into faster cars so 0.5 seconds would be fair!
Bearing all that in mind the likes of me and you would need to be operating at 10/10ths to extract that S2000 figure, whereas it would be easier to get it out of the M3, and finally that figure for the M3 convertible is for 0-62 mph, I'm pretty sure, as the M3 coupe does 0-60 in 4.8 secs ~62mph in 5.2 ish!!

Good morning.
The M3 does 60 in the mid to high 4 second range. A bit out of our league. S2000 has been tested at between 5.2 seconds (Motor Trend), 5.5 seconds (R&T), 5.6 (Consumers Reports), etc.
