I was under the impression that the 02 came with amny of the fittings and looms for the hardtop already installed and that you needed kits and bits for the earlier models.

Any year of hardtop will fit on any year of S2000. You will always have to buy some sort of kit or another. No S2000 (except for the Canadian Spa Yellow '01) comes with the rear catches on the car. I don't believe any S2000 will have to final wiring harness to connect to the rear defroster. What varies is the amount of electrics and wiring harnesses before the final harness to the defroster. I also believe that all S2000's will need the modified trim pieces with the brushes on them. Hardtopguy will know, based on the year of your car, which kit you'll need.
