Just curious what any of you are seeing the 2001's price out at, and how available they are?

One dealer in Indiana is asking 8, yes 8-grand over MSRP. I almost laughed the phone out of my hand. Another Indy dealer is selling at MSRP, but has 5 people it's putting into a drawing to see who gets the car. That dealer says it'll get 8 S2000's in all of next year. And lastly, another dealer in Michigan has one ready for delivery now with now wait list, selling right at sticker.

If only I had my winter car, I'd buy right now.

Mike, if I were you, I'd take the one that's ready for delivery now! You can always get a winter beater in no time.

Same thing here in the Carolina's! In New Bern, NC at Joe Alcoke Honda (do not go here)there are two S2000's, one Red 2000 and one White 2001. . .no waiting! In Jacksonville, NC at LeJeune Honda (this is where I bought mine)there is a Yellow 2001. In Wilmington, NC at Stevenson Honda, there is another Yellow 2001. All of these with NO waiting list!

Looks like the demand has dropped some. . .wait till Springtime!

Hah, you think *that's* bad...

Before I found one on the net, I passed by the local Honda/Acura dealer and they had a silver/red out on the lot on a podium.

Being that it was on the Acura side of the dealership I assumed it was used. The conversation went something like this...

"Is that S2000 used?"

- "yes"

"How much are you asking?"

- "$38,000"

"$38,000??? How many miles on it?"

- "20,000"

My jaw proceeded to drop at the obscene amount of money they wanted for a used S2k.

Coicidentally they called me back today and asked if I'd be interested in a red one. I told them I'm in the process of purchasing one. Being the nice guy I am, I answer their inquiry about how much and how many miles... Even over the phone I heard her jaw drop as she said, "Wow, that's a great deal. Congratulations".

<grin>

hey loki,

was that marin acura/honda that you're referring to? if it is, both the red and silver s2k's have modified exhaust and intake. just take a look if you're interested. a look, that is, don't bother wasting your time with them! they've been thoroughly abused by the guys that work at that dealership!

Here in Richmond, the local dealer has a yellow/black for $39,995. They've tried to sell all of their S2Ks for that and have NOT gotten it.....

Mike

I just took delivery of my 01 blk/red here in Ft. Wayne. I got it at sticker with no forced options, actually they gave me excellent prices on the options that I got. They have a spa yellow that may or may not be sold.

Thanks for the tip, I'll give them a call. Just curious, which options did you go with?
