I called Frank Kent Cars in Ft. Worth a couple of weeks ago about a Silver/Red at MSRP per a post here by Wirejock. I put down a credit card deposit and was told it was "my car." Next day, I find out it's not my car -- another salesperson sold it out from under me. No manager has returned my calls. Based on this, I would have to recommend staying away from this dealer. Fast-forward to happy ending: My Spa Yellow was built last week and I'll be picking it up sometime in December from a dealer in New Mexico! Can't wait to join in the fun that you guys and gals get to experience daily.

Ahhhh, I take it you got the spa yellow I dropped to get the red/black from Clovis, NM?

Definately complain to the regional office in Irving, TX. The number is on the website under the 'owners' section. If you received a VIN number and possibly a contract, you might want to push that. Are you going to get anything out of it? Probably not, but its the ethic of the whole thing for the dealership to be honest. Personally, if you posted the dealer's name and number, I'd give em a call and give them crap about it, just to support you.

I'm really sorry this happened. I know when I called anout mine Tonya mentioned they were all excited you caught the car. I'm glad there was a happy ending. Did they refund your deposit immediately? Hope they call you back.

Schatten: I'll follow your advice about the complaint. I didn't have a signed contract yet--everything happened in a matter of a couple hours, I think. Regarding Clovis--how was the delivery process? Anything unexpected?

wirejock: The deposit never even posted to my account, so I didn't have to worry about that. Have you spoken with Tonya lately? She was pretty mad...

If you could throw me an email with the dealership information and any additional details of the story, I'll post it to www.s2ki.com/rant.

Regarding Clovis, I'm not sure about what will happen, I will pick up my car on the 30th of this month. Its already there, and I'm not expecting to stay for more than 20 minutes since all the financials will be taken care of beforehand.

I'll be sure to keep you posted.

Actually, I called her. She said she was "just about to call" me, and I have no reason to not believe that. She was extremely apologetic, even talking about quitting over this incident. The sales manager did not return my call. I was really upset at first, but I figure I'm better off not dealing with a dealership that lets this sort of thing occur and that I'll mark this one down as a learning experience.
