02 alignment/tire question?
Ahill, thanks for that info! The carfax said it had a minor front end accident resulting in a replaced front fender on the left side. That was at 13,000 miles it now has 38,000. I would HOPE that if this is out of whack for alignment it hasnt been for over half of its life, and i really dont believe it has because as i drove it, it felt unstable at 75mph and i hope there arent people out that that wouldnt realize that issue....but you never know.
One of my issues is that i DONT know people here who align cars well. I went to a specialty german shop for my previous car and had tires put on at a tire center and i think they did a good job for my alignment on my Audi. This dealer does not have a repair/service center on their lot....they take it to someone not affiliated with them, but im sure gets a lot of business from them and they probably get a deal? Just guessing.
thanks again
Nate

Nate, if you take one piece of advice from me, please let it be this: Carfax is useless except to rule out a car where the report states there WAS a major accident. The ABSENCE of a major accident on a carfax report means NOTHING, because it may not have been reported to carfax. Like I said above, I had an $18k accident on my first car and Carfax never reported it. Go with what others have said and have a professional, maybe an autobody guy, look it over to tell you if it has had a major accident. Carfax sucks.
