Sure seems like a deal for $100.
There were also rumors of suspension changes, at least in the UK, intended to make the S2000 less tail-happy. Honda may have made these changes quietly in the US market to avoid any lawyers getting ideas about liability suits for spinouts to MY 2000 and '01 cars.

I hasten to say I'm merely speculating here -- I have no additional information.

To gohiking -- why not just wait for a silver-black? Then if you really want the two-tone look, you might consider having an upholstery shop customize your seats and door inserts. Add Rick Hesel's console cover and shift boot, and voila! You might spend $1K or so, but the results would be stunning and unique. And a kilobuck isn't so painful at the time you're making a purchase, right?

Tox- what an interesting perspective. I'm thinking you might have something there. What would be interesting to know would be if the alignment/suspension settings from the factory were revised for 2002? A few minor tweaks with the camber and other adjustments and the handling could be very different.
Interesting.
Any others have any thoughts?

Just to note...

Not all supsension changes are good... As an example look at how they "detuned" the original TT's with that hideous spoiler, softer spring rates, etc. because some (unskilled?) drivers let the cars get away from them.

True. Likewise, many cars (and suspensions) improve with age and experience. We won't know which one until we know...

Unfortunately, it's not true. I just called American Honda, and it's either all-red or all-black. Since they're offering the red/black interior in Japan, I asked about the possibility of doing a special order--since they're all built at the same factory. Unfortunately, that's not an option either. The waiting for a live-and-in-person viewing of the all-red 2002 continues...

I think some of you new 02 owners should do is get together and swap out some red for black and vice versa. ie black door panels with red seats and carpet, black radio door. Other gets the red door panels, radio door and floormats.

Hey just killing time before the Chat on CAIs.
