Default 04/05 Stock Rims

Do the center caps on the stock 04/05 rims serve any purpose other than cosmetic? I was thinking of taking them off. To me the stock rims look a lot like some aftermarket rims and I want to take them off (the center caps) and put some blue lug nuts on to make them look kinda aftermarket. I have the Suzuka blue 05 S2000. What do you guys think?

Instead of spending money on rims I was thinking about buying the Buddy club coilovers.

Yea. Im sure you would can take off the caps and run some aftermarket lugnuts. The buddyclub coilovers are a nice set and will improve car handling but if you want to have a nice set of rims. I would get something aftermarket. The stock ap2 wheels are nice but the offset isnt aggressive enough to give the car that right stance. But thats just my opinion.

What are the offsets for? I know a good deal about mechanics but don't know crap about suspensions and handling. When I mess with suspension stuff in Gran Turismo 4 I just end up making my cars handle "wierd".

The offset is how far in or out the hub sets from center. if the hub of the wheel is dead center the offset would be 0. If it is toward the inside of the wheel the offset will be negative if it is near the outside of the wheel the offset will be positive

If you start messing with the offsets you run into other problems - the stock Offsets are Front 55 Rear 65. As you go lower in number the wheel sticks out farther and you can have rubbing issues especially if you lower the cars suspension
