Default 04 center armrest conversion?

has anybody tried replacing the armrest in the pre-04 s2000's with a 04 and up armrest (the one with the aluminum cover and sliding cover) ?

several have. the parts just pop off and the new ones pop on.

hardtopguy sells them. they show up on ebay, too.

you need the console(~130), the cupholder assembly (~120), a new hazard switch(~20), and the leather armrest part (~70?) (that is integrated on 00-03 consoles). All told it is like $350-450.

I did this on my car the swap is very easy to do, hardtopguy will supply everything needed. Cost was $465 and it has been one of the best changes I made to the car.

$465 OMG

With e-bay it was a ZERO cost for me. And I got a radio door to boot.

Will the 04 door panels fit my 02 f/l as well?? There is some more storage room to be found in the form of door pockets

I like the old one better, too. The dark trim around the shifter is exactly like the titan shadow trim on the M3. I can live w/o a second cupholder..
