Default '04+ Cruise Control Buttons on an '02...

I just spent 20 minutes searching to see if this had been covered, and I couldn't find anything on it.

I noticed that the screw spacing on the back of the cruise control "control pod" feels similar to that of the pod which is on the newer S's. I have an RSX and it also has this same pod (the three button one).

I was wondering if it would be a simple swap to put the newer three button module on my S? I know the S got a slightly different sterring wheel desgin in '04, but I am secretly hoping that they didn't change the screw spacing where those contolrs mount.

Any info/insight would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Craig

Only the leather wapping is differant on the new S2000. The buttons will swap over just fine. I have both an 04 wheel with the buttom installed on my 02.

Awesome! Any clue as to what the button cluster would cost to purchase?

There's gonna be an extra wire to connect. I believe you'll have to do some splicing to get it to work...then again I may be wrong.

I am gonna assume that it would use the same harness/wiring. The '04+ "cancel" button should just accomplish the same task that the "pre-'04" buttons did when pressed simultaneously.

I am assuming that when you push both together it creates some sort of "short" between the "set" and "accel" wires. I would think that the cancel button does this same thing without any additional wiring.

Hopefully Stratocaster can shed some light on this...

I installed an MY04 wheel that have the switches already mounted to the wheel. I used the wiring that was attached and hooked it to the existing connector. I think the connectors on the switch as differant, and the connector on the car is the same. So you should need both.

It took no more effort on my part then installation. I needed to mod nothing. It is simple plug and play.

The 04 "Cancel" is just a mechanism that pushes both buttoms like you had to do manually on the pre-04.
