Default '04 drivers! where is the defroster button located?

i may sound retarded but i was lookin at the pictures of the center console(of the '04s) and realized the slot where it used to have the defroster buttons does not seem to be there anymore. I've been thinking of gettin the '04 center console for my '01 S and had to wonder how that problem could be solved.

Thanks,
KS

Do you have a hardtop? The convertible top glass rear window defroster button is located on the dashboard to the right of the steering column. The defroster button located on the center console in '00 - '03 cars functioned only for the hard top defroster. I don't know what happened to the latter button.

OK, wait I'm confused. You're saying the MY00-03's have the defroster button on the center console, and the 04 has it on the dash? MY Spa 03 is on the dash with no button on the center console.....

Do you have any pix to show what you're saying?

It sounds like '03 owners with a hardtop have TWO defroster switches. On one the dash for the convertable top window, one on the console for the hardtop window.

Having neither an '03 nor a hardtop, I cannot confirm this however.

The rear defroster is located by the steering column. There's no defroster button on the center console. At least not for mine, which is an 03 also. Maybe he meant the front defrost on the vent control.

Or maybe he's thinking of the "Hazard" button.

Well guys -

here in the UK the de-froster button is on the centre consol - for both the soft-top glass screen and the hard-top!

Mine is a MY03 GT

i guess...
if you have a hardtop.. then it's on the center console... if you don't, then you don't have it anywhere unless your S is '02 or later, which, as CoralDoc said, is on the dashboard. (00-01 don't have any rear window defroster since it's a plastic window)
