My 04 S2000 is 3 weeks old. Last week I noticed the driver side exhaust tip had a lot of pitting. Is this normal ? Tomorrow I have to take the car in and I want to know what you have experienced.

Mine doesn't. Well, guess I have to keep an eye on it now. Where do you live?, close to the sea?

Looks and feels like small rust areas.

 

uh.......that's the cancer on the chrome tips. Hopefully you are wiping the tips off after every wash. If they are pitting already then they will only get worse. You need to replace them eventually or start using a metal polish to protect the finish.

 

Kinda early in the game for rusting.

You probably ran through something and picked up some splash from the road.

Try a heavy duty chrome cleaner-something you'd use on motorcycles for example.
