04 front bra
hey i have an 04 s2k and im starting school soon, so i will be commuting back and forth on the freeway. i hardly go on the freeway and already have a few chips.
i am worried that my car will be covered with rock chips, like my previously owned prelude which was chipped pretty badly. just wondering if anyone sells a front bra nose mask. im not really looking for the clear bras. i also have an oem front lip, does anyone sell the 04 bra with the oem front lip fitting?
thanks.....

Ahhh. I've seen the bra for the S2000 and it looks like hell. Trust me, you'd love the clear bra and your car would still look good. It's a little more, but the advantages are well worth it. I drive 80miles every day in mine and my front end is spotless, plus most people don't even know I have a clear bra on until I tell them.
I've had experiences with regular bras before. Dirt always gets trapped underneath and you end up ruining your paint. Sure it's not chipped, but it still looks bad with all the rubbing and dirt that collects. Wait until you bash your front end in. That's when you get a vinyl bra.

Cyclon36,
I really like the idea of the clear bra. Unfortunately, only one shop near me installs them. As you can imagine...pretty steep installation charges.
Did you have yours installed or is this a do it yourself type of kit?

If you can get the pre-cut pieces, it "can" be a do it yourself job BUT (and this is a BIG BUT), it is not an easy install for the DIYer. You need to be a "handy kinda guy" with a bit of experience in installing decals and window tint. It uses similar techniques. It is REALLY easy to destroy a $300.00 piece of film.
Also know that there are several types of film. Even the most common 3M Scotchcal variety comes in two types. One is a bit thicker (cheaper) and will yellow in time. The thinner, more pliable type is the one to choose. It will not yellow and will give many years of service.

i know that the bra is just flat out ugly
, but if it could save a few rock chips here and there, i really don't care..... i want to get a clear bra, but have no idea who does this type of work and on top of that if they would do a good job....

not only is it ugly, it will ruin your paint if not cleaned every day. Call around for different shops. Usually tint shops also do the clear bras. Call around and see which one does it. Go with the one that has the next to the cheapest price. You can find the nearest 3m dealer here:

I actually have the "ugly black diaper bra" from Colgan and on a black car, it's not that bad. And yea, there are areas where dirt gets trapped. But I usually detail my car on the weekends and I've not had the paint damaged from using the bra. I think the only people who do get any kind of paint damage from it are those who leave it on for months, through wet and dry. If you know better, than you know not to leave the bra on if you're in the rainy season.
So far, my front bumper and front part of the fender are still looking pretty good.
And I've seen other cars with the clear bra installed properly sustain damage from debris hitting it at high speed. Can't defy physics I guess. So even the clear bra cannot guarantee complete protection. The "ugly" bra has an advantage to clear bras in that arena as it has more cushion to absorb impact.

. If anything go for the clear shield.
