I have had my 04+ Mugen Exhaust for about a month now and it started out being really quiet, almost too quiet. The Comptech intake easily overpowered it after 4K.

Now it seems to be getting louder though, a lot louder. In fact during a 2 hour road trip I almost had to pull over due to droning. The strange thing was, it didn't seem nearly as loud on the trip back.

Has anyone else noticed their Mugen getting significantly louder? I am going to jack it up and check to see if it's developed any leaks but it doesn't sound like it. If that's the case I may end up going back to stock.

 

i have over 3k miles on my mugen ss and to me its sounds a bit quieter than when i first put it on. i love the sound this exhaust produces, perfect db for me. what speed are you cruising at on the highway? i have not experienced any droning. it does get louder when you have the cruise set at say 78mph and then start to go up a hill. if anyone is thinking about buying this exhaust, it is worth every penny!

I have had my Mugen exhaust for several years and think it has become somewhat louder. I also think it has some drone although not near as much as most aftermarket systems. Don't think it has anything to do with leaks, just the material getting pressure packed.

Seriously, it's probably what SIIK2NR mentioned.

 

I've had my Mugen on for a few months, and I notice that it gets louder when the car is warmer. But I haven't noticed an overall increase or decrease in volume since I installed it.
