sup guys...new to the scene of hondas...after much research on the 04 s2k, i decided to buy one those asap....i was just wondering though, can this (04 s2k) "beat" any honda thats sold here in the U.S. .....(Beat, meaning can it outperform and burn any stock hondas out there including the other 2004 hondas to be sold i.e. accord, prelude, RSX?) .... .......

 

no offense, but how old are you?? you don't sound like you know much about cars, and only care about bragging rights.

I believe you should be shopping for a NSX if you want to "lay the smack-down" on any other honda.

As the others have implied, that's a rather silly question.

Why would you buy it just because stock vs. stock it is faster than other cars? It wouldn't take much for an RSX or probably even the new Accord to be modified to be faster (in the 1/4, at least) than a stock S2000. If you just want to go fast, I'd recommend you check out the domestic scene. For half the price, you can get twice the power. Look for a used Mustang or Camaro and mod the crap out of it.

When it comes to real racing, a significant part of "outperforming" other cars is the driver... so that's what you should work on before investing in a 32 thousand dollar car.

 

Get a Toyota Echo and put a Hemi in it. That will be a real sleeper.

 

Maybe in Japan, that way they get all the '04 improvements, yet keep the 9 grand redline.

I think that the MY04 S2000 is going to be a great car. It's not as rough around the edges as the MY00-MY03, however, it still keeps many of it's great quailities. Many of the people on this forum are undecided whether on not they like the decrease to 8000 RPMs, however, I believe that the MY04 will be probably ONE of the best Honda's ever produced for the streets. Along with the RSX Type R and NSX Type R.
