04 s2k with SC, how fast.... what other mods neede
Hey all wondering if anyone has first or even second hand knowledge of how fast a well broken in 04 s2k with Comtech SC is?1/4 mile and 0-60 times... also realisticaly speaking what else needs to be done to this car to accomodate the SC, a clutch, gears, CAI, ECU etc etc.... also with this set up ia a new exhaust needed and will it increase performance? Next what if (and how much does it cost) to add an intercoller and what are the gains from this in terms of HP, and 1/4 mile and 0-60 times? How can you get the 04 to run to 60 at 5 flat and be a low 13 sec car? Thanks for the input... and please try to keep budget in mind,,, Thanks

I am curious too. From what I have found out though with just the supercharger you can get low 13s. Also the Vortech supercharger comes with a aftercooler and comptech also makes one for their supercharger as well.
You don't need anything other than the supercharger to run low 13's. It comes with everything you need. Both kits come with a replacement airbox so no need for a cai. Considering you have an 04, I would hold off with getting a new clutch for awhile until you DEFINITELY used up your current one.
So "realistically" speaking you don't need any of the other goods if you are on a true budget. You won't get much more bang with other things compared to the bang for the buck value the SC is going to give you.
Ideally, you may really want to consider an aftermarket fuel management system (i.e. Greddy Emanage, AEM EMS) to finely tune the kit to specifically meet your car's needs. Both SC's come with their own computer box that adjusts certain things, but this is preset and not perfect. So you may end up running lean/rich in certain situations.
Vortech comes with the aftercooler, and Comptech has theirs as an option. Most likely you will find Vortech to be the better value. But it's all preference...
Goodluck

I will have the comptech s/c with afrercooler on my 2004 in a couple more weeks. I also have a Mugen exhaust coming soon after the s/c install. Common sense tells me that a adding a good quality exhaust with a supercharger is a great idea. Even though the comptech and vortech units are plug-in and play so to speak, if you can do some dyno tuning, that would be great.
Have your car dyno tuned after you put the SC on and make sure you re-tune the car post-exhaust install or else you'll run lean. Lots of guys have complained that they can't get out of running dangerously lean with a header and exhaust without going the AEM EMS route.
