There have been lots of posts on different ticking noises, but I wasn't able to find anything on this one: it seems like a muted plastic on plastic noise that is coming from the center console in the area of the secret compartment. It doesn't take much to set it off. It's not the roof ticking - I had that too, but thanks to this site, that has been taken care of.

What I've done: removed everything from both compartments; driven with compartment doors open/closed, top up and down; shimmed the compartment door to remove any flex; tightened a couple of screws.

Any ideas? This has been going on for months - started shortly after I got the car in March.

Hmmmmm? Ticking and a muted plastic sound ... Maybe it's plastique and an alarm clock. Better have it checked by Homeland Security.
