vtec.net has always been known to put out very respectible articles, and I don't see this one would be any different. I find it rather believable.

Wow this would definately be a change for the better if it's true. Now I am going to have to test drive one and see if there really is a difference.

I think I'm happy - if this is true, I get my 120hp/l bragging rights (still miss the 9k though)

The car does make more power, period. And it pulls on my MY00 with CAI. Not much difference in the first two gears, but once the cars get into 3rd the 2004 steadily pulls away.

Due to the heavier wheels on the MY04, the differences will be smaller on a dynojet. I've also extended an offer for a free dyno test to the first 2004 owner that contacts me to verify that our press car is not a fluke. The test car, BTW, only had 900 miles on it when we dyno'd.

Finally, be sure to note that the 04 ran much leaner on the dyno, there won't be much point in buying a VAFC for a basically stock 04 like there was for the previous models. Not a bad deal for 04 owners.

We did some acceleration testing, skidpad testing and then autocrossed it today (on race and street tires). Check back for those results as there were some more surprises.
