Default 05 AP2 redline

The fuel suppose to cut off at 8200 RPM on 04-05 AP2. Will anything happen to the engine if you hit 8200 on 1st gear?
Anyone ??

did you just redline 1st gear or did you try to slam it into 3rd and accidentally slam it into 1st and over rev?

I hit my ap1 Rev limiter for like the 3rd time in 1st gear the other day. Feels you forgot to pull up the anchor hehe. It won't hurt anything I'm sure they figured people would do this time to time...

The rev limiter cuts the fuel, so no more power. It feels like someone yanks the car back. No damage if this occurs - mechanical overrev is the dangerous one.

I just redline in 1st.
Nothing will happen. You can redline in any gear as long as you're not downshifting when you're at 8200.

same thing that will happen if you hit the limiter in any other gear, it will cut fuel. Remember, the stresses you feel in different gears are due to the transmission's ratios, not the motor.
