05 s2k 1st to 2nd shift starting to develop a slight grind feel
I'm thinking synchros? and combination of clutch? It is the oem clutch at 100k and fluid was redone with OEM Honda about 2 months ago.

Is the clutch properly bled and adjusted?
You changed the fluid in the trans? clutch?
has the shifter been regreased?
when did this start? suddenly? gradually? after some event?
If everything checks out...then it may be a worn synchro.
it will need diagnostics and inspection by someone who knows S2000s.

I grind 1st-2nd once in a blue-moon (but, it does happen on occasion).. even while slow, proper, granny shifts. So I am wondering the same thing as you. And, also if it's common or not (1st-2nd grinds).
I'm hoping it's maybe just something simple - like clutch bleed/bubbles, adjustment, or maybe worse case clutch/PP. Obviously, I really don't want it to be from the internals, like $ynchros and stuff.

I occasionally have a tighter feel trying to get it to drop into 2nd from 1st, but as you said above, other times it drops into gear with no issue. I've bled my clutch, I believe it's adjusted properly and I've changed the trans fluid last year to Honda MTF. The only box I've not checked is the regreasing of the shifter, hope to do that as the last piece to see if it helps the mild resistance I get trying to get it into that gear.
Edit: I have 58,000 on my 04 AP2 (I'm the second owner though). What year and mileage are the rest of you guys?

I have essentially the same car as you, as far as year and miles. I know on mine, going to second can feel a bit "crunchy" until it gets properly warmed up. Once done it feels great. I have also done the same maintenance as you.
From what I understand this is normal.
To the OP, does the condition improve once the transmission gets warmed up?

47k on MY04 and VERY rarely do I get that light grind, only if I don't shift smoothly into 2nd, and more or less on pretty cold days, which is rare as I don't take the S out often then.

Take the first slack out of the clutch pedal. Push the pedal all the way to the floor. Thread running this week on it. 12mm wrench and 10 minutes (most of which is getting out from under the dashboard).
