Oh yes, with all the 06 owners chiming in to defend their steeringwheels, all these responses are totally unbiased.. not

I personally liked the steeringwheel that was on my 01 in comparison to the 04-05 or the 06. The perforated leather portions on it made it look FAR more sporty. The 06 version just looks like a half-baked upgrade to the 04-05 which I don't care for either.

.02 deposited.
The feel on my 06 is much better than my 01.

I personally like the 00-06 steering wheels the best.

I've driven just about every year (haven't driven an 01..) and they all were fine, and did the job they were supposed to do.

Beyond that.. I never cared much what the wheel actually looked like. I have over 8,000 miles on my 06 in 4 months and never even noticed the "double ring" around the H.

No it's not. I've had an 00, 04 and 06 and all three are different.

I much prefer the 06 it is padded and grippy where the 04 & 00 are a bit skinny.
That is your imagination then, perhaps there was less leather dressing/wear on your 06. I've felt both the 04-05 and then the 06, feels exactly the same to me. Unless my 05 is some special "padded grippy" model or yours is..
