Default '06 Stock XM radio

I have an '06 with the stock XM radio but cannot get it to work in order to retrieve the code. I followed the owner's manual instructions, but nothing happens when I depress the XM button.

Has anyone had any luck with it?

Thanks.

J

the 06 comes with a XM ready radio.....Did you actually get the kit [about $400 }installed?
If you did the code should show up.If all fails, see or call the dealer.
Good luck-stew

My advice - Get rid of the XM and go for Sirius. I've had both bro' and believe me the Sirius is the way to go. I think there is a conversion kit floating around that will turn XM into Sirius.... Two other words to convince you: Howard Stern.

do you have the optional XM box?? the stereo is XM ready but the dealer option adds another $600 to your car - plus do you have the x/m antenna on your trunk?

Dooh !! I just asumed that the "XM ready" printed on the factory stereo meant it was ready.

I even got the manual out and it said nothing about having to install any extra stuff.

I did some research and no way I will put a hole through the trunk to install the ugly antenna. I am going to keep burning cds

Thanks guys !
