Default 07 versus 04/05

Hey all, I saw a youtube video and the guy claims that the 07 was much better to live with even though every other purist hated it more. IDK, I actually like the VSA but have not driven one to compare to my old 04 that I had when it came out and later traded it in for a Bimmer (E90 M3).

'07 and '07 ride is probably smoothest.

We're sitting almost over the rear suspension and2006 & 2007 cars have the softest rear springs of them all.

Honda increased the front suspension spring rates every two years reportedly to help restrain snap oversteer. And lowered the rear spring rates for the same reason also every two years until 2008 when they increased again. The CR's, not surprisingly, have the highest rates all around.

Good thread here. <----- that's a link!

Thanks for the 0.02 bro. Definitely going to wait for the right 06+ then. All I see are mostly red and yellow so far.

Unofficial color distribution. Red is the most common '06 with about 20% of the cars. Only 5600 MY06 originally and many have been wrecked no doubt.
My '06 Silverstone/Black interior is the "rarest" 2006 model despite 28% of all USA S2000 being Silverstone and 41% some shade of silver.

Chuck S., thanks for posting the link for the color combinations by year. That was a really fun and interesting read. Great resource!

I test drove my 2007 S2000 and an earlier model at the same dealership. I went with the 2007 because the newer seats were more comfortable. This gave me a better impression of the car's ride.

It's not for "snap oversteer", it's to build more understeer into the handling of the car because that's easier for inexperienced drivers to handle vs oversteer. "Snap oversteer" is actually lift-off oversteer which is caused by driver error.

Yeah but to be fair, doesn't increasing the understeer also reduce oversteer, and hence also 'snap', aka lift throttle, oversteer?

Reduce this same as increase that? Semantics.
