Default 09 GT VSA question

Hi,

Have finally taken delivery of my 09 GT 100 after a few nervous weeks while Honda sorted the Scrappage scheme out, car is great, although still in the tedious 'run-in' period.

A quick Q for you guys, the VSA button (told never to touch by the dealer!) doesn't seem to activiate the !warning indicator on the dash. I looked in the handbook and it says that if you switch the VSA off the warning light comes on the dash (like most cars TC), but no light?!?! Just thought I would see if anyone has had a similar experiecne before I call the dealer and get it checked out. I've not tested the VSA just yet and to be honest hope it stays in check, but if there is a gremlin in the system I'll want to get it sorted sooner rather than later.

PS - have wanted one of these ever since i chopped in my 98 UKDM ITR for an elise. Both went and the house purchase forced me into something less 'sporty' but now I finally have the S and its as good as I hoped it would be!

regards

Phil

I am guessing you are just pressing the button quickly in-and-out. You need to hold the button down until the /!\ appears on the dash.

If I were you I'd leave alone for the first couple months, though. After it saves your ass a couple times and you get a feel for how much is too much, then start to play around without it.

yeah dont turn it off when you first get it. the S can bump over steer, and is bad in the rain. yeah get used it before messing with it. although that wasnt the question. to the OP yeah just old it down longer. honda made this delay for a reason. it is for when you start the car you dont accidently push it and turn it off.

sorry a lil off topic but.....

i decided to always turn it off when i went off base but this one time i was at red light and i felt like if i was the $h!t. took off and shifted into 2nd and my car started fishtailing while a car was next to me (you could see their jaws dropped! ) it was either hit the car next to me or hit the curb going 25 mph..i fishtailed around 5 times in my lane before i finally got control. once i got control i instantly put VSA on and i went directly home and didnt drive until the next day because i was scared(never been in an accident). since that day i ALWAYS leave it on. i only turn it of at the track. it was like i needed to tame the car ..but that was about a year ago...

hopefully i didnt change this to another "VSA saved me" related threads
