How much of you guys pass throught the fifth gear and shift directly to six from fourth ?



I did not paid attention to this untill this morning !!! When i accelerate
moderately, i ALWAYS pass the fifth gear and go to the sixth !!!


Maybe i'm just lasy !!!

 

It has nothing to do with me being lazy, but I do shift from 2nd to 4th a lot when I'm on city streets. However, when accerating on an entrance ramp on a freeway, I go through each gear.

 

Every gear every time.

 

Never. In fact I rarely use 6. The only time I use 6 is when I know I'll be on an Interstate for an extended period of time.

I only skip gears downshifting. Hit every gear going from 1st to 6th. The car already lacks torque without skippin gears.

 

Never. I enjoy shifting the S way too much to skip a gear!

 

6th, we have a 6th gear?

Like David, I find myself only going up to 5th in 'normal' driving.

Remember, 5th @ 6K is ~ 92MPH

I avg about 80-90 during 'normal' driving (hey try driving slower on the expressway and get forced off the road ) and I like having 240hp at the tip of my toe to pass those boring drivers cruising in the left lane at 65mph in 6th.

Otherwise, I'm putting at ~3K rpm in 6th and have to down-shift to pass with any authority.
