Default 1 passengers + 2 snowboards in S2k... how?!?!?

i need a solution that wont require me drilling strange holes into the S. is there any sort of rack-like thing i can put in the trunk and close so it sticks out or something so can carry boards up?

there's no room this year in any group trips that my friends are going on for me & my roommate (SUV from last year isn't around anymore).

any ideas besides trading the S for something more feasible?!

Man, that drive up to Tahoe is gonna be pretty crazy if you're still on S02's!!

I thought about getting a custom bracket attachment so that you could mount the snowboards on your trunk lid like a GT-Wing!

Or just rent a car for the weekend. Much easier to deal with and you don't have to worry about driving your S2000 on snow.

In Japan, you can get a ski rack from one of the aftermarket manufacturers. Don't remember who it was. Do a search on this site, pics have been posted before.

i'm pretty sure it'd be cheaper to rent a car/suv a couple times each season than to buy the racks & snow tires (& mounting/dismounting them). plus you'll still have to deal with carrying you boots & gear as well

i've gone twice by myself on the s-02's, once in light snow & another during spring.... st00pid idea if there's any white stuff around

If you really get into a jam and need one soon, you could probably find a bike rack that would fit the trunk and then strap the two boards and some luggage down. Or you could see if a friend has one. I believe the Saris bones rack is supposed to fit any vehicle. Just be careful that it doesn't dent the trunk lid.

It's a universal rack from "Fapa" (Italian company). I ordered it through http://www.auco.de which is a German company, but I guess it is also available in the US through different channels. You can try http://www.hmsmotorsport.com/shell.php?sho...how=brandz&c=fa for instance... Make sure you order the correct width, because there are three different sizes. You need the 97cm version (so NOT the 117cm or 128cm rack widths).

The adjusting needs some attention, but if mounted properly, it is very sturdy and does not damage the trunk. I probably went a little bit more than a tad over the maximum rated load capacity (45 lb) and it proved to be no issue at all.

Good luck!
