10,000 Miles
Hi everyone,
I just went over the 10000 mile mark. The S has been a great ride and I'm glad I'm on it. Overall, it has been a very solid vehicle. What I noticed is that the S started feeling a lot more powerful and responsive right after 10000 miles - as if there was a hidden program that unlocks itself to release more power after a certain mileage. Now, I have no actual numbers to prove my case, but to me there seems to be a noticeable difference. I did read a post from way back when that the engine continues to get stronger until 10000. Whoever it was, was right on the money.
Just 2 mechanical mishaps on the way to 10000:
1) Window washer nozzle blocked twice on the driver side.
2) Clicking sound around the rear tire/diff. Only happens in the morning when I drive off to work. Will have it checked soon.
Some other things to bring up:
1) Gas mileage: About 22-25mpg on mostly city driving.
2) Engine Oil: Does not consume as much as some here claim. Only had to add oil once before the 1st oil change.
3) Tires: Almost ready to be changed. (I'm not an aggressive driver...)
4) Everything else: Holding up extremely well!
This site has been a great resource of information. Thanks everyone for chipping in.

Mine is a 2003 and will be 10,000 miles next month ...
I have the Click Sound in the rear tire / differencial when i take off in the morning to work . I believe is from the rear brakes.
No problems with oil consumption
Problems however with the clutch system (not the clutch itself i believe) some kind of cylinder .It makes a strange sound when i depress the clutch pedal.

I am at 9800 miles.
My tires are nowhere near worn. I asy I have another 10k on them. 80% of the time I do not drive aggressive. 20% of the time aggressive.
Your alignment must be set differently, so your tires are wearing more.
