I have kept every car that I have ever owned until it could no longer be repaired. I have never traded in or sold any of my previous cars. They were all towed to the junk yard.
Could you share what some of those other cars were and how many years/miles you got out of them?
Any estimates as to how long your S2000 has before you have to tow it to the junk yard?

Congrats! Ten years... I'll be there next Sept. I only have 18k miles on mine so it is interesting to see your list.
Did the dealer also give you the line about the 2 year (2000-2001) production time-line when you purchased it?

congrats!!!
Fairly low cost of ownership!
Im currently half way there, five years ownership of my s2000. One`s simply not enough for me, so i have a suzuka and grand prix white. I used to trade my cars all the time. Until i found the s2000, simply cant do without.

y2ks2k, check your paperwork again. The S2000 was released (delivered) on September 17, 1999 in the US, not in August. (Canada could be different) Purchased mine on the 18th also after a year and 3 months on a waiting list. Did not pay extra markup, but did have to pay sticker. It now has about 55,000 miles on it, and other than tires and routine maintenance, and the gear grind fix, has not had anything go wrong with it. Plan to keep it one more year, then sell it. Back plastic window still original and in good shape. (car never sleeps outdoors) The only mod is better speakers and Ricks leather console cover. Also it is #144 in the US.

Actually you might be right. I had these pictures labeled 9/2/99 but I just looked at the file actually says 10/2/99. This was me at the drag strip a few weeks after I got it, I already had 1000 miles on it. It was a very busy drag day, probably a thousand people. None of them had seen the S2000 yet and when I was in line it had a huge crowd around it most the time taking pictures. When I got up to the stands it got a standing ovation by about 300 people. Unfortunaly I didn't want to rip apart the car yet so I only pulled one run at a 14.7. If I remember right, I might have even had the shipping spacers installed since dealerships at the time kept forgetting to take them off.

I still have a 1993 Honda Accord EX that I bought new. It has 165,000 miles.
I expect that my S2000 will get 200,000 miles before it goes to the junkyard. I estimate that will be in 2020.
