I usually have my hat over the knob, but it still gets hot.

But, I just deal with the sweat, the hot knob, and the hot leather. I just love driving it too much and I love having the top down.

Get the red interior instead of black.

Just buy a sun reflector for the windshield and tint the windows...this should prevent them from getting too hot when parked. As far as the shift knob, I have found that the A/C in "Top down" mode at full blast cools the metal (I have the spun titanium OEM knob) really well.

I have the aluminum voodoo knob. On hot days, you learn to shift quickly.

After the second day of topping 100 degrees here, I've been trying to figure out what I can do to make driving with the top down a bit more comfortable. Not only are the seats super hot to sit down on, but they make your back all sweaty.

I thought about just using a beach towel over the seat while I drive, but that seems a bit lame. What do you guys think about those beaded seat covers/pads? They work great (had them in my Miata), but do they look too cheap for a classy sportscar like the S?

Any other ideas?
Its been so hot in LA I can't put the top down untill after 6pm. I tried driving from Marina del Rey to Encino with the top down and after 10 minutes I had to put it back up. The sun is blazing this week.

If the car's getting hot while it's parked, I'd also recommend one of those reflective windshield shields. Don't know how easy it'll be to find one that's so small though.

As for driving in the middle of the day, that's a toughie. I've been lucky enough so far to not have to do it in this heat so far. I'd say just be sure you've got lots of sunscreen and lots of water in the car... and wear a hat.

Maybe you should post this question in the AZ forum for some better suggestions?
