Your blown and you don't do your own maintenance?..

You know they took your car for a serious joyride cause it's SC'd.

Do yourself a favor and learn to do your own maintenance.

JMHO.
yeah yeah I know- DIY- I dont have the tools or the time, but I should feel confident and comfortable leaving my car the peace of mind that they will provide a service that I pay for in a professional manner, and not go out and joyride/ abuse a customers car. I may be jumping to conclusions because of previously heard horror stories, but when I dropped it off, I checked the trip meter- when I got it back the trip meter was reset- I just had a wierd feeling about the whole thing and left just steaming-

Stay with the car at all time, when you take it to the dealer,to get some work done on it.
Better yet,do it yourself.

my trip meter was also reset, but I waited for the car and was always in my sight at the honda dealer, I'm positive they didn't drive it off the lot. Is it possible that there's another reason to reset it? I didn't bother asking as I know they didn't drive it off the lot

I usually do it myself, particularly when it comes to the S2000. However, just last weekend I had my wife's CR-V at the dealer and had the diff fluid changed. $58 and they used two bottles of the Honda fluid @8.50/bottle.

I thought that was expensive until I read your post. Seems a like they charged you extra since you have an S2000, there should be no difference in the cost of changing the rear diff fluid in any Honda vehicle. I would think the labor and materials are all about the same.

The price sounds about right to me. The dealer told me that the Diff Oil change alone was $70 but that would have included the Oil. Did you request Synthetic oil because 5 Quarts of that would add another $35 or more considering what a dealer charges for it.

I just took my car in recently for Inspection and noticed that the trip meter was also reset with 0.8 Miles on it. If I wouldn't have looked at the Odometer prior to dropping it off I would have been thinking the same thing you are but it didn't seem to have any extra miles that I noticed.

You gotta know that when a mechanic is out for a test ride in the S he is going to beat it like the town mule even if it is only for 1 mile. This is especially true if it's supercharged; lord knows I would show it no love
