Mine shows 5/99; in various maintenance activities, I've seen parts stamped as early as 2/99.
See sig for VIN & purchase date.
I got on the waitlist at 3 or 4 different dealers in Jan. '99 (typical reaction: "S2000? Never heard of it...are you sure that's a Honda?").
