Whats the name of the trucking company. There has to be something more that can be done to pay them back. They could have killed her and they didn't even stop. That really makes me angry. Thank goodness your wife is alright.

I say you go after the trucker. There are ways to find out who it was, but here's a start. There are three things that truckers have to do which leave a trace. 1) Get gas, and 2) go to the weigh station. 3) Register to drive that day. First, you can find out who was working in the state that day by demanding that the company look on their records. Second, you should get info on all the weigh stations in the state and find out if a trucker from that company went through within 10 hours before or after the crash. 3rd, demand that the company show all reimbursements for gas reciepts for that day. Doing those three things show show who the culprit was. Also, you don't have to know the individual to know that that company was involved. You can sue the company for the accident. I bet they will have an investigation into who was driving that truck.

Years ago truck drivers were the safest, most courteous drivers on the road. Things have changed and many of them are hazards.

The S is a safer vehicle then we give it credit for.

I hate reading stories like this. I'm glad your wife is o.k.

Glad your wife is ok, definately go after the truck driver. If he and the company get away without any penalties, there is no lesson learned and nothing stopping them/that driver from doing it again.

Listen, do not let this go at that!!
You need to hire yourself someone who can investigate this further. You say you already have the name of the trucking company. That is a big plus. All that needs to be done is to look at their records and get to the bottom of this. They denied having any trucks on that road!!!!! Ofcourse!!!! When another car hits you it is no big deal but a trucking company is different.
If you let this go it will only encourage this type of behavior from the company and their drivers.
I am glad your wife is going to be fine but to let it go like this would be a shame.

Think of it this way. If someone put a shotgun to her head but missed and only got her injured enough to require some stiches and a trip to the hospital but also shot up her S2000, would you let that go??!! I would not. The only difference was that she was assaulted with an 18 wheeler, a much more deadly weapon than a mere shotgun!

Damn right! The cops are too busy chasing sports cars exceeding the speed limit to worry about a few big trucks excdeeding the speed limit or perhaps even a few felons loose on the streets

The police certainly have their priorities right. Crime doesn't pay, but cathcing speeders does

Rick, you sound bitter about something?

Denny sorry about the car and glad to hear your wife emerged relatively unscathed. I would most definitely follow up on this some more. Speak to your insurance company and see if they are willing to investigate further. Contact your local police and/or the state police again. I'd also contact an attorney and maybe a local private investigator as well. No way I'd let those jackasses get away with it.

wow that is terrible!! thank god your s2000 and your wife is ok. This also happened to me before in mine and my brotheres s2000.
we were driving in the left lane passing a 18 wheeler when as he was tyring to turn into the left lane he simply did not see us and hit us luckily he jerked back. me and my brother were no joke sideways on the interstate. luckily my brother who was driving was able to correct it. we both pulled over and the cops came. everyone was ok and the trucker was very sorry. he was a old man who was looking at a mazda miata and did not see us. me and my brother was all ok exept for the s2000. our estimate was also very low. we are trying to fix it though and we are doing as much as we can.
thanks for your story. and i am glad you and your wife are both ok. good luck with everything. although it to see the s in that condition.
