Point well taken Ermac. These posts have convinced me that nitrous systems are not to be taken lightly. Reliability is a must for me since it will be my daily driver. I think I will leave N20 in the dental office.

While considering buying a G35 over the S2K, I think I saw about 30 G35's driving around today and saw 2 S2K's. I am going to resist the temptation to be one of the herd. My fate is sealed. I will still test drive a G35 just to know how it feels and to see the look on the salesman's face when this conversation goes down.

Me: "Mind if I get the RPMs up a bit?"
Nissan Salesman: "Sure, why not just keep it safe."
after the drive
Nissan Salesman: "So, what do you think?"
Me "Nah, the Honda S2000 is better, but thanks."

Start with swapping out the rear end first - it'll make you quicker while keeping all other items stock.

The car is great as stock if you know how to use it.

the car is damn near perfect stock, but with basic upgrades it is pretty mean!

[QUOTE=TJF,Oct 24 2007, 07:59 AM] Nos = not a word

N.O.S. is a company logo that stands for "Nitrous Oxide Systems"

N20 = the chemical makeup of nitrous oxide...

The moral of the story = when posting about the chemical and not a company that sells kits to introduce the chemical to a combustion process, please refer to it as Nitrous or N2O

sorry... its just a pet peeve of mine.

Nitrous is worthless in auto-x, road course, canyon carving or even drifting.

It is only good for drag racing (either on the track or foolishly on the street.) So if you aren't going to run the 1/4, why bother?

If you ARE going to the 1/4 mi, then the S2000 is the WRONG car.

Welcome, Shazz.

IMO, why hinder the reliability of your s2k?? If reliabilty wasn't an issue, you would be looking into 02 vettes and newer 350Zs for the same price, plus, you already stated that you want something long term. There are safer ways to get 50hp than the bottle - do some research on the ways to upgrade your s2k without sacrificing Honda's signature qualities - reliability and fuel efficiency. After all, if these 2 facets didn't hold weight with you, you'd be looking at Crossfire SRTs and blown Skys, or something of that ilk.
If done properly there is no reason that a 50shot would be any less reliable than anything else. Since it's not even used 98% of the time, it would be safer than a supercharger for example.

Yes, you have a point there.
