I am curious about how many people really drive their cars hard enough to produce the 5.5 sec 0 to 60. What I would like to see compared is side by side. driving at speeds we all use, back roads passing 50 to 80 or 90. or 25 to 75 merging into traffic. I find myself playing with mustangs, corvettes, etc.. on the highway from 75 to 100+. Anyone ever do these comparisons?

i would rather own the 9k motor; its more worth it than an extra 9 ft/lbs of torque, and a couple more ponies on the dyno.

This argument has been done to death, just do a search. I'm only posting to make one comment about the statement above. When you see a post such as this ("only ~9ft/lbs more torque") keep in mind that's peak, it neglects to mention the relatively large gains made from as low as ~2500rpm all the way to 6000. The FC22 accelerates quite noticeably harder "out of the powerband".

Thanks for opening up a can of warms...
jk.

Both are great engine. Although 2.2L is advertised for same HP out put, torque and actual HP figures should be higher than 2.0L engine.

Rest of the world gets 2.0L only in NA market 2.2L was introduced. As far as which being faster argument goes?

Who cares about 0-60 or 1/4mile time. Take it to a road track. It becomes driver's game.

Probably only auto journalists and the people who hang out in Street Encounters. I noticed that for the British spec car (2.0L, new chassis), Honda advertises a 6.2 second 0-60 ... guess they don't want folks abusing their cars too much.

Oh yeah, rub it in my face man...

Thanks for all the input guys. I guess you can't go wrong with either car. I can't wait to get one, I'm saving my pennies!

i went with the 04 because it was new. that being said i didn't have much of a choice really. i do like the wheels of the older models better but i must say the interior of the 04's look quite a bit better. also the head/tailight assemblies look much better on the newer version.
since i've never driven a 00-03 i don't know what i'm missing with my wussy 8k redline but it seems that the 9k is the only real advantage i've heard as of yet.

isn't it interesting how the owners of their respective MY's seem to support their MY's? come on 00-03'ers let me have it!
