hey im new to the forum. i am a member of s2000.com though. i just thought ild post this. this is what is happening with the australian s2ks why cant we get 2.2 engines too. i would also like to inform you that i dont drive an s2000, but im a huge fan, and i reckon you guys who drive them are cool as! you rock and i see you as people to look up to when im old enough to drive. thats another thing, im 14 hehe! well thats my goal, to get an s2000. well yes, did anyone else know we couldnt get 2.2 litre engines in our 04's? because it came as a shock to me. yes im going to the photo albums now to see some more pics. i love s2000s so much awww there amazing cars! you love driving dont you. anyway seeya!

 

Well according to the people around here the 2.2 is an inferior engine. Just be thankful that Australia is not plagued by this inferior engine. (I got a 2004 with the 2.2)

Just cuz people say it's inferior, dont mean it is. Each engine is special in their own way. Just what you prefer is waht to get.

I dont think the 04 motor is inferior, it has more low end torque, and its still a DOHC Vtec motor, its not like honda changed the whole motor. In my opinion, the 00-03 and 04 model has kinda seperated owners, some people wanted a more friendly drivablity from the s2000, instead of high rpm range making the most of the car, the 04 brings it all together, the driver gets the most out of the car all throughout the rpm range. If i was able to chose between 00-03 or 04 model, i would chose 04 model because of the lowerend torque.

 

I would love the 04 just because of the new styling, but I'm not trading in my 03.

 

yeah i suppose some people want to go for something new in the 04.
