Default $2,900 for top, $427 for installation

Hey guys,

I purchased an oem hardtop and the guys at the local honda dealer quoted me around $430 for the installation. Am I being ripped off? If that's the case, I'll just take the time to do it myself.

Yes. It IS alot. It doesn't take long to install the hardware yourself. If you have any mechanical inclination whatsoever, you can do it. Like yungjoc said, it'll take less than two hours and once you're done, you'll be glad you did it yourself and saved a wad of cash.

Considering they want to charge $50 for pulling the radio / changing the one screw on the MAP sensor / changing the cabin air filter... that's about right.

If you think that's silly (as I do), DIY FTW!

You would think that a mech that has done this a few times could do it in about an hour. It took me a couple of hours with several breaks and it was my first install.
Unless that price includes the price of the installation kit, (it shouldn't) this is really a rip. ....$400+ for labor?
The $2900 price is actually not that bad and the intallation kit should be in the box. DIY and save.

Note:I have the feeling that they want to charge you three ways.
1. $2900 for the top.
2. $400 for the installation kit and (3)labor.
This is the only way this makes any sense.

I'm glad this thread came up at this time, as I was just rethinking the HT idea.

Is $2800 shipped to my door still a good price on an OEM HT?

Check out the GB section. I just got mine shipped to a local freight terminal from Joe at Ganley. $2650 shipped with no tax. I had the thing installed myself in a couple of hours.
