2 Accessory Questions
I'm picking up my Silver/Black '01 on Thursday, and want to know if anyone has recommendations for 1) Waterproof (water resistant?) car covers (I am in Oregon, you know) and 2) A web address for a titanium shift knob.
Thanks!
You guys (and gals) have all been a huge benefit. Despite some concerns about the tranny, etc., you pushed me to the edge, and I jumped by myself.

There is more discussion here and in the past on Honda-acura.net re covers- might try a search.
Congratulations!
Let us know how you find the car. Of course, check notes on taking delivery at s2000fans.com

Thats a good deal. Beaverton Honda didn't want to come off from their 42k price for me, even though I had a 99 Vette as a trade in. I ended up getting a used one from Tonkin. Looking back, I might have payed too much, except...
1) I did an autotrader search across the nation and the cheapest one I found was 30k.
2) no dealers wanted to come down from their markups
3) The used one at Ron Tonkin Acura actually was listed pretty high, but they came off of the price
4) They gave me a killer value on my trade in.
all in all, it depends on how you shuffle the numbers, since the trade can complicate things. But, all in all I could have done much worse.
Basically, Beaverton wanted my Vette PLUS 7000, and Tonkin Acura gave me the S2000 PLUS 7000 for the Vette.
Sure the S2000 had 15,000 miles, but really thats not TOO bad. I've put on 3k in the last 7 months. School takes up a lot of time.
I figure the at this rate, the miles will average out
Anyhow, Beaverton Honda are scumbags are far as I am concerned, and while I can not personally make a dent in the number of people that go there, I can do my part to make sure that you don't ever deal with them.
The internet is a powerful thing
I wont use them for sales, or service... I actually drive about 30 miles instead of 10 miles because I despire Beaverton Honda that much.
Ron Tonkin Honda's service department does a good job, btw. I highly recommend them. The service guys are very receptive to the problems the S2000 owners have. For example, I mentioned that the driveline noise was the clutch, based on the fact that people with the 1-2 grind were getting new clutches and getting rid of the noise. TSB54 wasnt out yet, but Tonkin said that if there was a revised part number and the car wasnt abused, that was good enough for them.
They are truly a pleasure to deal with.
Dont know where you plan on taking your car for service, but Tonkin gets my vote.

I highly recommend the Weathershield cover. It's extremely lightweight, folds up into a very small package, and can be washed in your washing machine -- and it's nearly totally waterproof. I use mine every night and it's been on through some ferocious snow and rain storms.
