Default 2000 S2000

I was just wondering if anyone had any info on this. They seem pretty hard to find (black with the red interior) and I needed to know how many of these were made. What it would be worth now, if worth anymore than a normal S2K (it has 50,000 miles+/-). I am thinking of buying my first S and I found this one, so I needed to get some more information on this since the owner is saying this is a rare S and that only like 500 were made or something Thanks in advance!

Hmm, I don't think there have ever been any official production numbers published by Honda relating to colors. Informal polls here on s2ki show the black/red combo to certainly be not as comman as Silverstone, but still more common than white. However, I've seen very few black/red cars besides mine. Actual selling prices seem to follow KBB values relatively closely, so that's your best bet in determining a fair price I'd say.

If you can keep it clean, it's certainly the best color combo out there.

Yeah, I love the black/red combo and I had no idea they made them. Then I saw this one and Ah, beautiful...But what do ya'll think a reasonable price would be one something like this? (2000, 50K miles, black w/red interior...) He also said something about "The Fast and the Furious Edition"... What a stupid movie anyways, but I don't really care about the movie, I was just wondering if there really was an edition that came out like that. I know this guy personally and he can be known to stretch the truth sometimes, but he is a great guy. Any help real soon would be greatly appreciated!!

Yeah, I misunderstood him. It's not labeled as "The Fast and the Furious Edition", it just looks like the one from the movie, haha But anyways, enough with that movie crap. It has the black/red leather interior with the black exterior. The car has won some awards at car shows and has 50,000 miles. I don't think he's done anything to the car, it's pretty much how it would be when he bought it back then. I looked on KBB for price info, but there's not an option for that interior combo. So that's why I'm here asking ya'll what you think he should sell it for. He's going to bring the car by later on today, so if more info is needed, let me know what I should look for and I'll tell you about it. Thanks again!

OK, he just left from my house. I drove it around and this was my first time ever driving an S2000. I was actually very impressed with its overall performance, handling, smooth shifting, and its appearance. And it was way cool to be driving and feel it hit that VTEC and have it throw me back in the seat. The car is his wife's car right now and I don't think she even knows what the VTEC is much less how to achieve that nice little addition She shifts about right after 3500 or something, so I know the car has been driven very nicely for those past 50,000 miles or so. The rear tires are about gone, but it's OK because he has another new set waiting to be put on in his garage right now.
As for the power, I like it a lot. The only thing I feel it needs is more torque (but then again, I've been driving my mom's 350Z lately ) The exterior does have a few chips in the paint, but that is expected from a car being driven about every day for 5 years. The interior is perfect from what I see, but I wasn't really looking so much for tears or anything as I was just in complete awe of the car. I popped the hood and it looks completely perfect. Opened the trunk and it looks as if it has never even been opened before haha. The car has been in for its "check-ups" every 3000 miles at a local Honda dealership. As I was driving he said that this was the 924th or 984th ever made or somewhere around there (I just grabbed the main details about what he was saying and summarized it in my brain since I was having fun driving it I'll be honest, I really do hate Hondas, but the S2000 just doesn't really seem to be a Honda, it's in a class of its own.
He says he just wants me to take over the remaining payments and he owes around $17,000 on it and he bought it brand new for $32,000. Does this sound like a nice car to you? I will post some pictures of it soon

EDIT: Nevermind...I cannot post up pictures of it due to my membership

Sounds good. Last time I saw one in that color combo, it was an '01 or '00, but dealer wanted like 24k for it. It was about a year ago.

It's not woth any extra cash.

If you want red/black interior it's fairly easy to swap for the bits you want.

My car came with all black interior like this:

and now it looks like this:

I spent less than $1000 on everything when it was all done. It took me a couple of months to track down everything, but it just took time.

Thanks for cock-blocking anyone with a red/black interior who may be trying to sell their car and get a little more out of it because of the interior color scheme.

Just kidding.
