An interesting (translated) article on the 2002 Integra at http://integra.vtec.net/02integra/bm_article.html .

Some Highlights:

Will be based on S2K F20C engine, slightly detuned for for FWD considerations and renamed K20C ~220HP

Possible R version with ~245HP

Projected US price of $18,000[/list]
Hmmm... Might make a good winter beater at $18K! Or a closed cockpit track car...

Boy is that ugly. If i could find a nice White '98 Type R, i think I would rather have it!

There is no way the new Type R will only cost $18k... more like $25k.

The $18K was for the non-R version.

The R version will be more, but still projected to be less expensive than the current ITR (sub $23K).

Funny, I think it's far better looking than the current Integra!

It kinda looks like a half-ass Celica to me.

But what are they doing about the fact the S2000 engine turns the "wrong way" (compared to other FWD Hondas)?

I thought that this engine would be used in the integra only when it becomes RWD.
If it'll be in the FWD integra that means that they're developing a whole new transmission for FWD based on the opposite-spinning engine. This just doesn't make much sense to me, since I thought they were converting the integra over sooner rather than later to RWD.

Right?? Or did I miss something.

Just use a counter-rotating propeller...

It also comes with a 6-Spd instead of a 5! It sounds awesome with the de-tuned S engine. There are 2 problems though!

1st. The styling is butt-ass ugly, why make it look like the Nissan Z

2nd. Will we Americans get the Ultimate engine or the de-tuned JPN version engine?
