i can get a black/black 2002 S2000 for $30000 (invoice). Should i get that or wait until Nov. 2002 for a 2003 @ MSRP (don't mind paying $2G extra, but its summer time...i need a new pimp whip). What do you think?

Get it.

The only known changes in 2003 are going to be colors, so you're not missing out on anything by getting the 2002, and if you can save at least $2,840, that's well worth it...

$30,000 is a great price but FYI invoice is $29605. At 30k the dealer is making about $1000 because of the approx. $600 holdback

Regardless of what invoice and dealer holdback is, that still is an incredible price! I'd definitely jump on it if I were you (as long as it's the exact color combination you want).

How are you getting it at that price? My father knows a owner of a Honda dealer and i was thinking of trying to get the S2K through him. Does he have the ability if he wants to sell me one for $30G's? If so, this car won't cost me much at all, after i trade in my Si. Too bad my pops didn't let me know about this guy he knew 3 years ago when i bought my Honda.

Is that $30,000 price the "out the door and on the road" price? Or is that price excluding certain fees. Just so you know, dealer invoice is $29,146 and Honda usually has a 2% holdback on all there vehicles. Also, if you don't know already......freight ($440) is ALL profit for the dealership. So check you math and recheck it again before you make your final decision. Basically, YOU should be paying dealer invoice and tax........and if you reeeealllly want that color combo....YOU can pay the full amount for freight. BTW, what's the mileage on that car?

Where did you get the idea that freight is ALL profit? That's just not true, it's added to the invoice and the dealer pays it. I stand by my statement that the dealer pays $29,605 less a 2% holdback for the car.

Yes, I concur with Andrewewing.

FYI, dealers in Chicago are offering at $30.5K. You can probably get it below $30K with some negotiating.

S2KraCkheAd - Why do you think you need to pay MSRP for a MY2003? I would think that you could get close to invoice since sales of this car is really slow in the winter.
